The Fallout(2021)- Jenna Ortega Movies and TV Shows

At fifth spot, we chose “The Fallout(2021)” in our list of Top 5 Jenna Ortega Movies and TV Shows.

Bolstered by new friendships forged under sudden and tragic circumstances, high school student Vada begins to reinvent herself while reevaluating her relationships and her view of the world. Moving away from her comfortable family routine, she starts taking chances with a series of decisions that test her own boundaries and push her in new directions. As she spends more time with Mia, they grow closer and Vada slowly redefines herself through their shared experiences.

It was, admittedly, a huge and very positive surprise. There is no pathos, no overblown sentimentalism. The economical script, the subtle verbal and non-verbal elements (just see the camera framing in many shots, it is pure poetry and one can write a story about some frames)… it is a true gem.

The acting, and one just has to really highlight Ortega’s absolute tour de force, is spellbinding – whilst absolutely believable.

One cannot decide whether the economically said poignant words, or what is not said or cannot be said are more effective in the film.

The scene with the main protagonist and her father is definitely one of the most stunningly beautiful scenes of catharsis in cinema history – and considering her inner journey, every moment of that scene is psychologically authentic.

The soundtrack is absolutely perfect, the original music by Finneas reaches the ethereal and achingly beautiful heights of Thomas Newman’s best soundtracks.

As a die hard Jenna Ortega fan I would recommend this movie. It is a sweet movie.

Scream(2022)- Jenna Ortega Movies and TV Shows

At fourth spot, we chose “Scream(2022)” in our list of Top 5 Jenna Ortega Movies and TV Shows.

Sam Carpenter returns to Woodsboro after her sister gets attacked by the Ghostface. She approaches Dewey Riley to help catch the killer, who warns Sidney and Gale.

Absolutely enjoyed every minute worth watching this film! Easily my favorite of the whole franchise followed of course by the original Scream. Met all expectations going into this film, acting was superb, plot was unexpected and almost jumped completely out of my seat several times throughout.

If you are looking for a quick scare edge of your seat type of movie, you have picked the right movie! Easily 5/5 stars for my critic rating.

Highly recommended for those who are fans of this franchise, I would encourage those who are easily frightened to watch with the lights turned on and hold on to your seat because it will be a bumpy ride throughout.

3. YOU(2018)

YOU(2018)- Jenna Ortega Movies and TV Shows

At third spot, we chose “YOU(2018)” in our list of Top 5 Jenna Ortega Movies and TV Shows.

What would you do for love? For Joe, an intense young man who frequently becomes smitten with beautiful, smart women, this question is put to the test. A charming yet awkward crush becomes something more sinister when love turns into obsession for Joe. Using social media and the internet, he uses every tool at his disposal to become close to the women of his dreams, even going so far as to remove any obstacle — including people — that stands in his way of getting to them.

You is a show about men and women in the 21st century and the lengths at which we’re willing to go to get what we want, without truly ever knowing we want. When you don’t know much, there’s not much that you can want. So what you want, you want with passion. However, humans have come a long way in a very short time- and it’s true that there’s a lot more to find out, but the scope of the things that we already do know is so vast, no human being can know all of it in a lifetime.

So what do we do? We read books, watch movies and TV shows and buy into the idea that there are things that can completely satiate us, put an end to our want for more: love, money, success and so on. Joe, the protagonist, latches on to the first. He is looking for what he considers true love or pure love- and he takes the liberty of controlling the lives of his objects of attention- making them successful, taking hurdles (including people) out of their lives. However, when things don’t match up to his fantasies to the last letter, he acts much a like child tossing a chessboard when he’s not winning despite all his efforts.

This is why You works so well- it hides these deft understandings of human behavior under layers and layers of a seemingly trashy psycho-thriller plot. Each season crosses the limits more than the previous to the point where you start expecting just about anything, and the characters still manage to shock you. It’s all wrapped in an intentionally oversaturated, heavily vignetted modern CW crime drama type of look. Even the background score sounds like that- scandalous. There is some suspension of disbelief that has to be done, but you do it just because of the sheer entertainment.

Credit for the success also goes to the cast- Penn Badgley, and later, Victoria Pedretti- keep these characters looking like sane, normal people (which in some twisted ways, they are) and make you feel familiar with them- so that when do something whack doodle, you can’t help but gasp in horror.

2. X(2022)

X(2022)- Jenna Ortega Movies and TV Shows

At second spot, we chose “X(2022)” in our list of Top 5 Jenna Ortega Movies and TV Shows.

A filmmaking crew and the cast make an adult movie at a reclusive place but elderly hosts find them and try to kill them.

A standout horror story dialing up the retro vibe, delivering up some top-notch gore and scares in a salacious art porn fused romp.

Adding to being set in the 70s, the film’s production style mirrors 70s porn films and is a clear nod to horror genre films of the time. This works really well for the film. It enhances the creepiness and craziness of the situation, steadily building the fear and tension to the climax.

At first glance, the characters fit the stereotypical necessities for a horror film, but the writing and performances take them up a level and bring them to life enough for the suspense to get under your skin.

The dialogue is also better than it has any business being for this type of film. There is a lot of depth in the story and motivation that everyone will be faced with at some point in life.

The costume design is great. There aren’t many clothes on anyone. Fantastic! The cinematography is exquisitely executed.

Doorways, Windows, and darkness are the stars here. You never know what’s around the corner. Director Ti West manages to always draw you forward, daring you to engage deeper with the film. The score and music selection bring the period to life and perfectly accentuates the terror.

It can get like it’s starting off slow, but this makes the kills even more powerful and the payoff all the more satisfying.

Another success from A24. Got a few good-quality jumps and made me laugh and smile all the way through. Must for horror fans. Although it’s not an over-the-top gorefest, it’s not for the squeamish.

Wednesday(2022) – Jenna Ortega Movies and TV Shows

“Wednesday(2022)” tops the list in our Top 5 Jenna Ortega Movies and TV Shows.

While attending Nevermore Academy, Wednesday Addams attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a killing spree and solve the mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago.

As someone who grew up watching The Addams Family, I was pleasantly reminded of my childhood while watching the 2022 series Wednesday. This adaptation not only stays true to the cartoon, but also delivers an incredible suspenseful and thrilling experience.

The story is nothing short of impressive, and the character development is top-notch. While there may be some weak points in the show, such as some characters not being as well-rounded as their cartoon counterparts, and the comedy not always landing perfectly, the overall quality of the series is enough to leave a lasting impression.

If you’re a fan of the original cartoon and love a good mystery with elements of horror, then this series is a must-watch. The creators have done an excellent job of bringing the beloved characters to life in a way that is both faithful to the source material and fresh and exciting for new audiences.

So, give it a watch and get ready to be taken on a wild ride!
