The Ipcress File(2022) – Best Lucy Boynton Movies and TV Shows

At 5th spot, we chose The Ipcress File(2022) in our list of Top 5 Best Lucy Boynton Movies and TV Shows.

Based on the 1962 novel by Len Deighton, Joe Cole takes on the iconic role of ex-smuggler Harry Palmer, who is turned into a reluctant spy at the centre of a undercover mission as the Cold War rages around him. When an important British nuclear scientist goes missing, Palmer’s links to the missing man sends him on a dangerous mission around the world in a race against time to prevent vital information from falling into the wrong hands and triggering a global catastrophe.

Fabulous, easily as good as the original. The casting is more than perfect and the quality, and atmosphere comparable to Endeavour and Foyle’s War. The choice and ability of the supporting talent is superb and compliment the headline three beautifully. Probably closer to Len Deighton’s novel than the film, but they only had a film length to tell the story, this is much longer thus the interpretation ability is much improved.

The capture of the era is extraordinary, it’s just how I remember it. I am hooked! p.s. If you haven’t seen the film, don’t watch it yet, the series will reveal the plot line much better, but once you have seen the series, definitely watch the film later and compare the two. For those that haven’t seen it, I envy you.

Lucy Boynton particularly captures the entire essence of the 60’s so well I had to keep reminding myself this was only made last year, incredible. A 21st century Vanessa Redgrave if I ever saw one

3. Bohemian Rhapsody(2018)

Bohemian Rhapsody(2018) – Best Lucy Boynton Movies and TV Shows

At 3rd spot, we chose Bohemian Rhapsody(2018) in our list of Top 5 Best Lucy Boynton Movies and TV Shows.

Freddie Mercury — the lead singer of Queen — defies stereotypes and convention to become a beloved entertainer; the band’s popular songs lead to Queen’s rise in the 1970s; after leaving the group to pursue a solo career, Mercury reunites with Queen for the benefit concert Live Aid — resulting in one of the most memorable performances in rock ‘n’ roll.

Fantastic movie. One of my favorites of all time, my favorite biopic of all time. I think that it definitely gets better as it goes on. Toward the beginning it all seems very quickly paced, with the film starting, to Freddie going to see guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor performing for the first time, meeting bassist John Deacon, defying their sound, and getting signed in around fifteen minutes. However at the end of the film it feels a lot more natural.

I loved how the film didn’t take itself too seriously, instead just trying to simply tell the story of a rock band going from small underground shows to becoming the biggest band in the world. However there are some dramatic scenes, particularly with the love triangle forming around Freddie and his struggle with dividing business from his personal life. These parts were eased into very well and orchestrated just about perfectly. Rami Malek does a fantastic job portraying Freddie, at least when it comes to his voice and body language.

However, I think that when casting the performer they sort of sacrificed getting an actor that looked like Mercury for an actor that gave a good performance. In the end though, this was probably for the best. Gwilym Lee looks exactly like May, and I think his performance was just right when positioned as sort of an antagonist/best friend of Freddie’s. Ben Hardy also nailed his portrayal of Taylor, and got his look and body language perfected.

Finally Joseph Mazello, despite not getting much screen time, was the best possible actor for John Deacon. The guest appearance by Mike Myers was also pretty fun. Altogether, this film very well portrays the life and times of Freddie Mercury and his relationship with friends, family, lovers and fans. 9/10.

The Politician(2019) – Best Lucy Boynton Movies and TV Shows

At 2nd spot, we chose The Politician(2019) in our list of Top 5 Best Lucy Boynton Movies and TV Shows.

Wealthy high school student Payton Hobart has known since he was 7 years old that he is going to be the president of the United States. The first step toward that goal is to become his school’s student body president. To do that, he will have to navigate the treacherous political landscape of Saint Sebastian High School.

Hobart feels he needs to win the election to secure his spot at Harvard and continue on his projected path to success. To achieve his goals, he’ll have to outsmart his ruthless classmates without sacrificing his own morality and — most importantly — carefully crafted public image

Crazy entertaining show. Tackles a lot of real world issues and exposes the glaring problems democratic systems face in general in a fictional and entertaining way. That parody, yet real, yet snarky formulae is wonderful.

Netflix has a tendency to be overly aggressive on their ‘inclusiveness’ to the point of being laughable sometimes (here’s looking at you dragon prince) and this is normally very off putting for me because my suspension of disbelief does not extend that far and just seems incredibly try-hard.

while the politician is also saturated with ‘woke’ characters to the point of disbelief, what I can say is that each and every one of them is interesting, well explored and serves a purpose in this show other than filling some woke quota like many of these shows do. So even this did not bother me in the slightest.

To wrap up let me say, this is my currently most anticipated ‘next season’ Netflix show. It was just that good.

1. Sing Street(2016)

Sing Street(2016) – Best Lucy Boynton Movies and TV Shows

Sing Street(2016) tops the list in our Top 5 Best Lucy Boynton Movies and TV Shows.

With the recession hitting people hard in Dublin during the 1980s, Conor is moved from his private school to a tough inner-city alternative. As he tries to adjust to a new way of life, he decides to start his own band.

Sing Street, ah where to start.

2016 has bunch of Top Notch films including Moonlight, La La Land, Arrival and Manchester by the Sea it was a sweat treat for me that year; But, Sing Street still sits on top of all the ones released that year because of pure treat it is.

Sing Street is joyful, emotional and compelling.
It has given the homage to Rock and Roll with highest regard more than we could as for.
It has blended the Teen/First Love/Romantic story of it in a way that’s so entertaining, it bursts out of High-School Cliche category and that’s an achievement especially recent ones are failing at it so bad.

It’s set in the 80’s and truly feels like a movie made in 80’s, the classic materials and I don’t think anyone need a second push to watch this film, if you have read it so far to know whether or not you should consider watching it, JUST DO IT, Ain’t no way you’d be disappointed. Period.
